JOB DESCRIPTION:
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

This position is under direction from the Skagway Child Care Council, which then delicates responsibilities for management of day to day operations to the learning center Director
-
Maintain a safe and state compliant facility
-
Communicating with guardians including schedules, billing, and all areas of family concerns
-
Pay-roll and bookkeeping duties
-
Utilize and update relevant media
PROGRAM AND MANAGING DUTIES
-
Ensure and support Director in implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum
-
Guarantee all child and facility procedures are being followed
-
Approve children and employee schedules
WORK SCHEDULE
-
Full time position, may exceed 40 hours/week
-
Be available to cover employee sick days and vacation requests
-
Must adapt to facility demands and daily needs
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Childhood Developmental Associates, Child Care Associate, Montessori Certificate, 9+ college credit hours in early childhood development, or be willing to work toward one of these degrees

Skagway Child Care Council can help navigate resources for trainings & courses to meet credentials required

Willing to hold year-round residence in Skagway, AK

Energetic and positive attitude
-
Must have administrative and management skills

Physical ability to care for children

Must be at least 21 years of age

Experience in office administration/management or child care setting

State background check will need to be approved in addition with multiple other state forms

Not required but preferred:
-
familiarity of Alaska State Child Care Program Office procedures and forms

COMPENSATION:
-
Annual Salary $54,000
-
Potential for raise upon annual review
-
2 week paid vacation
-
5 paid holidays
-
50% discount for 1 child if enrolled within Little Dippers Learning Center
